Tools for High School Teachers: October’s Treats!

This month brings a new set of teaching tools to help your students sharpen essential math skills. Teacher Plus members can access them now and integrate them right into upcoming lessons.

Check out all the October add-ons below.

High School Teacher Tools

This month, tools for N-Gen Algebra I, N-Gen Geometry, and N-Gen Algebra II include new assessments, mid-unit quizzes, and exit tickets for revising key concepts. These add-on resources for your classroom focus on topics like functions, circles and their properties, and probability.

N-Gen Math Algebra I:

Unit 4: Graphing Linear Functions (Practice Worksheet)
This hands-on worksheet helps students master slope–intercept form through repeated practice. They identify slopes and y-intercepts, rewrite equations, and graph lines to visualize linear relationships. Perfect for guided lessons, homework, or quick checks to strengthen students’ confidence with graphing and interpreting lines.

Unit 4: Mid-Unit Quiz C
A ready-to-use assessment covering linear equations, slope, rate of change, and function interpretation. The quiz blends multiple-choice and open-response questions that encourage students to apply algebra concepts in both graphical and contextual scenarios. Teachers can use it to check mid-unit progress, identify misconceptions, or prep students for Regents-style questions.

Unit 5: Practice Solving Systems by Elimination
This resource gives students multiple opportunities to practice solving real-world and numerical systems using the elimination method. From age and money problems to geometry-based contexts, it reinforces algebraic reasoning and precision. Ideal for partner practice, homework, or small-group intervention after introducing systems of equations.

N-Gen Math Geometry:

Unit 4: Mid-Unit Quiz B
This mid-unit assessment helps students demonstrate their understanding of foundational geometric constructions. It guides them through tasks like creating equilateral triangles, copying and bisecting angles, and drawing perpendicular bisectors, all using compass and straightedge. Teachers can use it to check procedural fluency, evaluate precision with tools, or as a checkpoint before introducing proofs and triangle congruence concepts.

Unit 5: Practice with Slope and Parallel Lines
This worksheet bridges algebra and geometry by having students calculate slopes, test for parallelism, and apply these skills to real coordinate-plane problems. From verifying parallel segments to analyzing quadrilaterals, it’s a great practice tool for connecting geometric reasoning with linear equations. Perfect for in-class exploration, homework, or group work to strengthen conceptual understanding before formal proofs.

N-Gen Algebra II:

  • Unit 4: Mid-Unit Quiz A
This mid-unit quiz reviews exponential growth and decay, function composition, and applying exponential models to real-world situations. Students solve equations, interpret parameters, and analyze contexts like bacterial growth or medicine dosage. Teachers can use it to check conceptual understanding before moving into logarithmic relationships.
  • Unit 5: Mid-Unit Quiz A
Focused on logarithmic functions, this quiz helps students connect exponentials and logs through evaluation, transformations, and real-life modeling. Problems include converting forms, applying log laws, and interpreting functions in contexts such as population growth. It’s a concise tool for assessing progress and identifying areas needing reinforcement.
  • Unit 5: Practice Solving Exponential Equations Using Logarithms
A practice worksheet designed to deepen students’ fluency with exponential and logarithmic equations. It includes both computational exercises and contextual applications—like interest growth and app downloads—showing how logarithms model time and change. Great for guided practice, independent work, or real-world math extensions.

October’s Spooktacular Treat: Halloween Worksheets

The spooky season can’t go without a special Halloween treat! That’s why we’re also adding a special 3-worksheet math bundle that lets you add fun to your lessons without derailing the curriculum. Keep the focus on essential math skills while making learning a delightful adventure.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Math 7: Creepy Percents – Students solve percent problems set in Halloween contexts like candy batches, haunted ticket sales, and spooky data sets, building proportional reasoning along the way.
  • Algebra I: Spooky Unit Conversions – With scenarios like witch flight speeds and candy weights, students practice unit-rate reasoning and dimensional analysis through fun, themed problems.
  • Algebra II: Haunted Exponentials – Students explore exponential growth and decay by modeling eerie situations such as potion effects, moldy pumpkins, and haunted house trends.

Each worksheet is ready to print, standards-aligned, and includes an answer key; ideal for classwork, homework, or a festive review activity. This resource is absolutely free to all our teacher Plus membership subscribers. Join our community for early access to this and other monthly resources.

We hope these tools help streamline your lesson planning this month. If you have any questions or need additional support, feel free to reach out at [email protected]. We’re always here to help.

Happy Math-ing.
